On March 11, an earthquake of an unprecedented scale struck the Tohoku
and Kanto regions and the catastrophic disaster was far beyond anyone’s
imagination. The road to recovery will be long and tough. |
As an organization that has offered scholarships to support higher
education for women and visually-impaired students, CWAJ established
“CWAJ Fukushima Relief Scholarship” and is determined to support the
education of the young victims who study nursing in university of
Fukushima Prefecture. Details will be posted on the scholarship web
site. Young students’ hopes, dreams, and desire should not be given up
because of huge earthquake and tsunami. By supporting education, CWAJ
supports the people of Tohoku in recovering from the disaster. |
CWAJ is providing encouragement and material support to the “CWAJ Great
East Japan Earthquake Mental Health Care Project” led by Japan’s leading
psychiatrists who offer on-site mental health care to the victims in
Fukushima Prefecture. CWAJ has offered to donate a van equipped with a
wheel chair.

By supporting the CWAJ Scholarship Fund, corporate and individual
donors can make a genuine and long lasting impact on the lives of
individuals and communities both in Japan and beyond. |
100% of all donations go to the Scholarship Fund. CWAJ fully
self-funds all operating expenses and other CWAJ community outreach and
member programs.
Therefore, more donations translate directly into more scholarships.
CWAJ annually awards about 10 scholarships, which total about
\15-18million. Recent recipients have come from Japan, Poland,
Bangladesh, China, Canada and the USA, in field ranging from
Biotechnology to Developmental Psychology. |
