Welcome to CWAJ!

The College Women's Association of Japan (CWAJ) is a nonprofit, volunteer organization of Japanese and non-Japanese women interested in education, cross-cultural exchange, and friendship. Offering opportunities for women from all over the world to share unique cultural experiences with their Japanese peers, CWAJ provides a long-term link with Japan as well as the immediate benefits of a wide range of activities in and around Tokyo.

CWAJ Great East Japan Earthquake Mental Health Care Project

Medical van with CWAJ logoCWAJ is providing encouragement and material support to the volunteer psychiatrists who offer on-site mental health care to the victims in Fukushima. CWAJ members attended the ceremony and presented a big golden key with the CWAJ logo as a symbol of the medical van which was donated by CWAJ.

  • Monthly Luncheon
    February 22 - Sheila Asato ,Healing Arts Program Coordinator - Healing Dreams and Nightmares

    What did you miss last month? Look here for last month's luncheon report and album.

    Also a special note: Kobayashi-sensei’s talk & exhibition at the January Luncheon was filmed for the TV show
    “Yume no Shokutaku (夢の食卓)”
    including interviews with CWAJ members. It will be aired on Saturday, February 18 from 10:30 – 11:00 pm on BSFuji TV channel.
    So if you missed the January Luncheon, be sure to watch. And if you were one of the lucky ones who attended, tune in and you may see yourself on TV!

  • Greetings from our President
    In connection with our Great East Japan Earthquake Relief Initiatives, several of us visited Soma City in January for the inauguration ceremony of the Mental Health Care Project and to deliver the medically equipped van which CWAJ donated for the new mental health care system in the Soma and Futaba areas of Fukushima.

  • Great East Japan Earthquake Relief Initiatives
    Immediately after the catastrophic earthquake, CWAJ collected cash donations and sent this fund to AMDA (Association of Medical Doctors of Asia) to be used for their medical relief activities for the Great East Japan Earthquake, while rigorously researching the ways to directly help victims in Tohoku region.

    The Selection Committees are gearing up to begin their selection process now that the applications are closed for 2012.

  • Print Show
    In cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Connection, we continue to offer the community the opportunity to enjoy Contemporary Prints.

  • Children's English Circle:
    Children’s English Circle had a great year with a consistently large number in attendance.  Please come join us for a rewarding experience and an exciting line up!

  • Volunteers for the Visually Impaired:
    VVI sponsored a special Charity Concert on December 11 featuring special artists Twin pianists Rie and Risa Kimura, Guitarist/vocalist Ryota Kuriyama, and the Tsukuba School for the Visually Impaired Alumnae Handbell Choir “Akane” . It was well received and and the benefit raised a good deal of funds. 

  • Foreign Students Circle
    There will be a General Meeting on
    January 28.

  • Friendly Quilt
    The drawing was held at the December luncheon. Find out who won here!
    All proceeds of the raffle went to benefit the CWAJ Great East Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.
