Welcome to the CWAJ Donations Committee web site.

The College Women’s Association of Japan (CWAJ) is an organization for women committed to education, cross-cultural exchange and friendship.  CWAJ’s primary service initiative is the provision of scholarships for women wanting to further their study both in Japan and overseas.

Across the globe, educated women are powerful agents of social change, transforming families, institutions and societies.  Over the past five decades, CWAJ has provided scholarships and travel grants to more than 750 women for university study outside their home countries, and to visually impaired men and women from Japan.  These scholarships are funded by individual and corporate donations and the proceeds from the CWAJ Print Show, an annual exhibition and sale of Japanese prints. The Print Show was first organized in 1956 and continues to attract worldwide acclaim.

Your support can make a difference

By supporting the CWAJ Scholarship Fund, corporate and individual donors can make a genuine and long lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities both in Japan and beyond.

100% of all donations go to the Scholarship Fund. CWAJ fully self-funds all operating expenses and other CWAJ community outreach and member programs. Therefore, more donations translate directly into more scholarships.  CWAJ annually awards 10-12 scholarships, which total ¥25-30 million. Recent recipients have come from Japan, Poland, Bangladesh, China, Canada and the USA, in fields ranging from Biotechnology to Developmental Psychology.
